Asic to weigh in on Libor transition conduct risk

Australia’s markets regulator will publish guidance on firms' conduct obligations in move to RFRs

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (Asic) is preparing to publish a paper setting out the conduct obligations of market participants in their transitions from Libor to alternative risk-free rates.

“We have seen that there is a bit of a need from the industry to hear from the Australian regulators [on the issue of conduct obligations for the Libor transition],” said Nathan Bourne, who leads Asic’s market infrastructure team. “This is a piece of work we are looking to publish
